What can you do in an hour?
It seems like there never is enough time in the day. How come sunny days go by so quickly? How is it that most of my memories are from summer vacations? Okay, yes, i remember alot of christmas's but mostly i remember the beach. Vacations in Missquamicut and Cape Cod. The sun, the hot sand, the smell of tanning lotion (no SPF). Dipping my toes into the cold ocean and sitting and reading on the edge of the shore. Reading and reading the same paragraph over because I couldn't take my eyes off the kids for one minute.
Standing in the sand and wondering why when the the waves went out and you were looking at your feet, it made you dizzy. And how your feet buried themselves in the wet sand and surf.
Remembering sandy blankets and picnic's and a time when I could eat ice cream.
This year we have no plans to go the beach. We are going to stay home and enjoy our little neck of the woods. Eric promises to dig for me (or is it dig me?) and we will open up the 'north 40'.
